EXO’s D.O. Likely To Make Return In September, Drops First Teaser For New Album Anticipation

1 years ago By Neil Ross

EXO’s D.O. has thrilled fans with the exciting news of his upcoming return to the music scene as a solo artist. In a highly anticipated move, he recently unveiled the first teaser for his second mini-album, “Anticipation.” This announcement has sent shockwaves through the K-pop community, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled to witness the return of the vocal king himself.

Anticipating D.O.’s Return

EXO D.O. is all set to release his second solo mini-album, “Anticipation,” on September 18th at 6 p.m. KST. The news was revealed through EXO’s official social media accounts at midnight, leaving fans in eager anticipation. This album is expected to showcase EXO D.O.’s warm tone, deeper sensibility, and extraordinary singing abilities, promising an emotional and heartfelt musical journey.

D.O.’s Musical Journey

D.O. made his initial mark in the K-pop industry as a member of the iconic group EXO, under the banner of SM Entertainment. During his time with EXO, he contributed to numerous chart-topping hits, solidifying his reputation as a remarkable artist. It wasn’t until 2021 that he embarked on his solo career, while still remaining a part of EXO. His debut solo Extended Play (EP), “Empathy,” featured a lead single titled “Rose,” and explored the genres of acoustic pop and R&B. With a total of eight tracks, this EP showcased D.O.’s songwriting prowess, particularly on songs like “Rose” and “I’m Fine,” which received widespread acclaim for their storytelling.

Beyond Music: D.O.’s Acting Career

Apart from his musical endeavors, D.O. has made a name for himself in the acting industry. His acting journey began in 2019 with his movie debut in “Cart,” where he also lent his voice to an original soundtrack titled “Crying Out.” Transitioning to the small screen, he made his K-drama debut with a supporting role in “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” a role that earned him a nomination for the Best New Actor award at the 51st Baeksang Arts Award. Since then, D.O. has continued to impress with his acting skills, eventually landing his first lead role in “100 Days My Prince,” where he portrayed a crown prince, leading to the series becoming a commercial success in South Korea. D.O. temporarily put his entertainment career on hold to fulfill his military service duties, enlisting in 2019 and being discharged in 2021.

A Glimpse of D.O.’s Versatility

Recently, fans were treated to D.O.’s appearance in SBS’s variety show, “No Math School Trip,” hosted by the former director of “Running Man.” As we eagerly await the release of “Anticipation,” it’s the perfect time to revisit his first EP, “Empathy.” If you haven’t had the chance to immerse yourself in his solo work, we recommend starting with the mesmerizing track, “Rose.”
