Will Amber Heard As Mera Die In Aquaman 2?

1 years ago By Movies Desk

Warner Bros recently unveiled the long-awaited trailer for “Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom,” or simply, Aquaman 2. Amidst the excitement, the spotlight turned to Amber Heard’s portrayal of Mera, the Atlantian Princess. However, her involvement in the film has been marred by controversy, leaving fans curious about her role in the upcoming sequel.

The Controversy Surrounding Amber Heard:

Amber Heard’s personal life has been marred by controversy, leading to calls for her removal from the movie. This controversy has cast a shadow over the film, and many have speculated that her limited presence in the trailer may be a response to this situation.

One intriguing theory that has emerged suggests that the filmmakers might choose to kill off Amber Heard’s character, Mera, in Aquaman 2. This possibility has stirred discussions, especially among those who have been vocal in their opposition to her participation in the film.

Analyzing the Aquaman 2 Trailer:

In the trailer, we catch a brief glimpse of Mera, played by Amber Heard, trapped in an air-sphere, desperately struggling to escape. While the visuals provide limited clues, an intriguing insight from We Got This Covered draws parallels to the “Aquaman: Death Of A Prince” storyline from the 1970s involving Black Manta.

The Connection to Aquaman’s Past:

In this storyline, Black Manta had imprisoned Arthur Curry Jr., Aquaman’s son, in a similar air-sphere, leading to a tragic end as he suffocated due to a lack of oxygen. However, it’s crucial to note that the film’s target audience is broad, and such a dark and emotional storyline involving the death of Arthur Curry’s son might not align with the studio’s objectives.

To maintain a more universally appealing narrative, the theory suggests that the studio might opt to have Manta target everyone Arthur Curry ever loved, ultimately resulting in the death of Mera, portrayed by Amber Heard. Her demise could serve as a powerful emotional trigger for Aquaman’s quest to take down the formidable villain.

As the release date of Aquaman 2 draws nearer, the fate of Amber Heard’s character, Mera, remains shrouded in uncertainty. While theories abound, it remains to be seen how the filmmakers will address the controversy surrounding her and whether they will take a dramatic narrative twist by potentially ending Mera’s journey tragically in “Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom.” Fans eagerly await the film’s premiere on December 20, 2023, to discover the final outcome.
